On our conversation with Erick Javier and I asked him, “does the bank use our money while it sits in a account?”. He told use that the bank does not tangibly take our money, but you keep money on deposit and you keep it on the books and re-invest and use deposits so the is a solid amount of money the can use. Not like liquid accounts which you can’t take any money from your account. What happens if the bank does not have enough money to give back to the people? Can you take money out of liquid accounts for emergencies? What I found about the banks not having enough capital to pay back all the money at once to everyone then the bank would collapse because it does have enough to give back everyones money, that is why it is regulated in how often or how much a day you can take from your account. If you need your money for an emergency to get it out of the liquid account earlier than supposed then you will be having to pay a penalty. I found this activity really helpful and taught me a lot of things about the banks and how they work. It was overall a helpful assignment.

Why Mountain Bike?

Mountain Biking is something that I have really enjoyed since I started doing it around 2 years ago. Mountain biking asks of many abilities like being enjoyable, mentally strong, and most importantly physically strong. To mountain bike you need a bike capable of keeping up with up the trail. A person should have a fast reaction time and be able to make fast and safe decisions. Most important of all, you need to be able to enjoy the sport and try your best at it.

What I am going to get out of this will be improving my agility and achieving great cardiovascular fitness. Mountain biking isn’t for everyone because if you can’t have a strong mentality, then you won’t be able to accomplish goals like making it up a mountain. Some people might not have the physical capacity required for mountain biking because of some reasons like being overweight, having physical disabilities, or just being lazy. My goal is to be able to improve my physical condition to make it up a mountain without struggling and benefiting from this by loosing weight.

History of Moutain Biking

According to Google, a mountain bike should be equipped with a light sturdy frame, deep-threaded tires, multiple gears, and designed for mountain terrain. This sport roots in California and wasn’t until the late 1970’s and early 1980’s that road bicycle companies started designing mountain bikes. Mountain biking is full of ditches, bumps, rocks, and ramps.

Biking Enthusiasts

The biking enthusiasts often look down on having to bike up the mountain, but when the challenge is over then the adrenalinizing part of it is up, going down the mountain. Riding down the mountain depending on the difficulty of the trail is very exciting, but also dangerous. As your adrenaline rushes through your body it makes you want to ride faster down the mountain. The bike’s shock absorbents take an important role in riding down the mountain at high speeds because of the rocks and uneven grounds that force your bike to absorb the ditches and rocks so that you have a smoother ride and don’t get thrown off the bike. Wearing a helmet is most important thing because falling and breaking a bone isn’t as bad as hitting your head against a rock and possibly causing a concussion or even death. I will ride safely by wearing a helmet every time I get on my bike to ride some trails.

Intellectual Wellness Defined

Intellectual Wellness means to be open to new ideas, be creative and think critically (University of New Hampshire).  This site explains that you can get Intellectual Wellness by doing things like improving study skills by reviewing study materials within 24 hours of class to keep it fresh in your mind. Studying in a quiet environment that will not distract you is important because if you are studying with noise around you, you won’t be concentrated enough and you will forget everything you just studied. Improving your time management skill is also important because if you do not have a good schedule or set deadlines then you will never turn things in on time. Making a to-do list, multitasking within your limits, and prioritizing tasks in order of importance and tackle the most important first are some ways of enhancing intellectual wellness. To improve critical thinking ask questions to yourself or others, be engaged in conversations, readings, and classrooms.These are all some examples of how to enhance intellectual wellness.

My Personal Intellectual Wellness

My Personal Intellectual Wellness developing my own personal ideas, views, and opinions. I have a personal opinion about everything, although it might not always be the best. Having an opinion about things is important  because if you aren’t open and are willing to view things from your own perspective you will always depend on others to share their ideas with you. An intellectual wellness I think is important to me is time management because if you can’t manage your time then you will never have anything done or will always be late. Time management goes way more beyond turning in work on time, but also showing up to appointments or meetings on time.

I am working to improve my own intellectual wellness by innovating  new ideas by using my personal views about some things. I will think of new ideas to attack projects or assignments better. I will set more deadline for myself so I don’t turn in my work late anymore. I will have my time managed better to allow me to rest after finishing my homework.
